About

Hi. I’m Steve Patterson. Welcome to my blog, an online journal about kayaking and other subjects that relate to balance. To get a feel for why this exists and where it’s flowing, go to the May 2007 archives and read the first few entries. (The first one is titled Take One!) Browse through, and stay for a while. To navigate chronologically through the blog or read what I wrote on a specific day, click on the bold calendar dates. You can mouse-over the calendar dates to read the titles of all the postings for a given day.

  2. Hello Steve, thanks for the comment on my blog (it’s always fun to know someone is reading!). I’ve enjoyed reading yours as well; your nature and kayaking adventures especially. Sounds like you are in some beautiful places. I look forward to reading more.

  3. Hey! Thanks for stopping by my blog – it looks like we do have a lot in common, but you take better pictures! I hope you stop by again soon… I’ll be checking in here from time to time as well. Great to ‘meet’ you!

  4. glad I didn’t hit this at work I’ed still be there! and no work done. What a beautiful site, I feel like I just took a breath of fresh air! I am not a blogger I was just looking for info on kayaking the catawba. Wondering if it is ok for a novice (twice on the lake novice)does that even count as a novice? If we make it to the river or not it was worth it to discover your beautiful photos and insights, and right here at our backdoor! Can’t wait to visit again tomorrow (during lunch!)

    Response from Steve:
Well, what a pleasure to have you reading, Linda! Thank you for the kind words. Make yourself at home. I hope to meet you on the river someday. Yes, a novice can handle the Catawba. There are flat easy parts and the shoaly rocky stuff that is more challenging. Let me know what you think.

  5. Hi Steve,
I ran across your blog in a websearch for Lucia Patterson Able while doing research for my family tree. I have provided my email in the comment entry form. Would like to exchange information and discuss if you are interested. Thanks!
