A Few Days at Sullivan’s Island.2


Each time the tide receeded, White Ibises gathered to conduct their probing march for food. This section of marsh appeared to provide what they needed quite well. The birds would assemble on nearby docks and boardwalks even before the water was gone, anticipating the chance to stalk their mud-dwelling prey. Then, grunting their secret soft dinner conversation, they spent the next few hours simply being ibises.
